Nancy Walker

Mrs. Nancy Walker is the inaugural recipient of the 2023 West Virginia School Board Association Member of the Year Award.   Her unwavering commitment, exemplary leadership, and substantial contributions have left an indelible mark on the educational landscape as a school board member.  Mrs. Walker's journey in the realm of education and public service commenced on July 1, 1996, as a member of the Monongalia County Schools Board of Education. With an extraordinary tenure spanning twenty-seven years, Mrs. Walker's steadfast dedication has been both impactful and enduring. Her leadership acumen, as evidenced by her roles as president and vice president for nineteen of those years, underscores her exceptional ability to guide and navigate the complex realm of educational governance.

Mrs. Walker's tenure as a county school board member exemplifies a resolute commitment to the advancement of education. Her vision has contributed significantly to the formulation and implementation of effective educational policies, programs, and initiatives, resulting in tangible improvements within her educational community.
